Sundara’s 57m infinity pool runs along Jimbaran Bay, gazebos and daybeds down one side, and a kids’ club nearby to distract the youngest travellers. Just 1.2km downhill from the villa; a short drive away.

Kedonganan Fish Market

The main fish market on this coast opens at 6am, when the night’s catch lands: mahi mahi, snapper, lobster, prawns, crab. Buy by the kilo, haggle a little, then have it grilled at a nearby eatery.

Casa Padel Bali

Padel has taken hold across Bali, and Casa Padel is 600m from the villa. Book a court or have the concierge do it. Aim for late afternoon once the heat has come off the day.

Samasta Lifestyle Village

An open-air village 1.3km from the villa with a supermarket and a run of restaurants, from crispy duck and Korean dishes to gelato and doughnuts. Great for a grocery run, a change of scene, and for the nights when nobody can agree on the same menu.

Rock Bar at AYANA

14m above the Indian Ocean, reached by a cliffside inclinator, Rock Bar has been one of Bali’s top sunset viewing spots for years. Dress up for the occasion; 4.6km from the villa, reservations recommended.

Garuda Wisnu Kencana

Nyoman Nuarta’s copper and brass Garuda Wisnu Kencana stands 121m tall, finished in 2018 after nearly three decades of work. The cultural park around it holds daily Balinese performances. 3.2km from the villa, and best to visit in the late afternoon.

Uluwatu Kecak Dance at Uluwatu Temple

The Ramayana, performed by dozens, in a stunning clifftop location, from 6pm to 7pm daily. Uluwatu Temple is 13.6km south of the villa, so leave early and take a driver.
